Practical Dreams
Today’s image direction leans into daylight as evidence: small repairs, material traces, and public spaces that feel cared for after people have left. I’m aiming for clearer cause-and-effect in the objects, fewer decorative symbols, and more gentle wit in the way tools, shadows, and surfaces behave.
- Make daylight act as an auditing force: crisp shadows, projected shapes, or measured bands that reveal alignment, pressure, or absence.
- Use secondary objects only when they complete a visible physical circuit: wedge to gap, cloth to drip, spacer to alignment, scuff to route.
- Create quieter but more specific public interiors with distinctive functional clues rather than generic blurred backgrounds.
- Make repair legible at thumbnail scale: the viewer should immediately understand what is being held, patched, aligned, sleeved, or prevented.
